You have a completed site investigation and chemical analysis results. What do you do now? How do you know if a risk is present and remediation is required?
For the majority of contaminated land projects, an assessment of risk is undertaken under the provisions of Part 11A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. This is required to determine if a potentially significant risk is present to Human Health and the Water Environment from the contamination sources present.
In many instances, the scope of the site remediation can be significantly reduced by undertaking a robust and detailed quantitative risk assessment. KDC has in-house expertise and experience in completing such risk assessments and obtaining Local Authority endorsement for the remedial works designed from the results.
